At the heart of Natasha Anisi’s paintings is light; moving through nature, awakening color, and transforming the familiar into something luminous.

Her fascination with it began in Siberia, where sunlight was both fleeting and precious. Growing up among long winters shaped her sensitivity to the changing qualities of light and the way it can transform even the simplest elements of the natural world.

Anisi’s creative practice spans more than three decades and has taken many forms, including painting, murals, exhibitions, and teaching. After moving to the United States, she continued developing her career while also dedicating an important chapter of her life to raising her family. Creativity remained a constant throughout those years, deepening her appreciation for observation, patience, and the quiet moments that often become the most meaningful.

She later earned her MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she expanded her exploration of color, perception, material, and light and further developed the studio practice that continues today.

Anisi is currently a practicing artist and art educator. She teaches at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design and provides private art instruction, bringing more than 30 years of artistic experience into both her studio and classroom.

Her paintings continue to explore the relationship between light, nature, and human perception; inviting viewers to slow down, look closer, and experience the sense of wonder that first inspired her to become an artist.
